STORIFYING UNIQUELY John Stewart (2013). Dismantling Racism One on One:                                             Uniqueness, Narrative, Equity. Stewart was a professor of communication for over 30 years...his best-selling book Bridges not Walls is in its 11th edition...he is part of a group i belong to called the International Listening Association's Spirituality Team. Walt Fisher, Stewart's most influential teacher, said that all great ideas can be simply expressed...the great idea from this book is that racism can be dismantled by:  listening first,  sharing our personal unique life stories (Stewart calls this storifying--the import of stories to learn, understand, remember, process, and connect with others is primary), and  inviting the other to do the same (instead of relying on social stereotyping for our communications).  Th...

Healer Chunyi Lin (2019).  Born a Healer. Lin has a very challenging background story of growing up in Mao's communist China...eventually, he ends up in the U.S. and finds forgiveness, healing, and peace. Throughout his life he learns from various Qigong (Chee-gong) masters and develops his own simple style of Spring Forest Qigong which anyone can learn and begin to heal themselves and heal others.  He only has one chapter detailing the techniques of "level one" of his system (there are four levels), but he maintains that this is all one needs. There are three basic movements...one is a standing posture, another posture circulates energy up and down the torso, and the third posture expands and contracts energy around the navel.  The healing others method begins by having the person relax and take deep breaths... breaking up blocked energy using the two-finger sword technique of making circles six inches from the blockage while visualizing light from the fingers breaking u...

DOWSING Elizabeth Brown (2010). Dowsing:                                                    The Ultimate Guide for the 21st Century. Brown has been dowsing for over 20 years, and has clients in over 20 countries that employ her services...her specialty is health and wellness. The assumptions of dowsing are that everything in the universe vibrates with energy and information, that everything has consciousness, and that human beings are antennas that pick up energy and information which is translated subconsciously through a downing instrument via our attention and intention.  Field dowsing is used to find something (e.g., water, lost object) whereas remote dowsing is used to map an area or obtain information. There is a British and an American Society of Dowsers. There is not much empirical research on testing dowsers, generally d...

ENERGY Sue Morter (2019). The Energy Codes:                                          A 7-Step System to Awaken Your Spirit,                                          Heal Your Body, and Live Your Best Life Morter is a chiropractor who learned about healing from her Dad, then she developed her own system called the "energy codes." the big idea is to facilitate a quantum flip, from a narrow protective personality to a soulful self (i like to think of this as reorienting from the little s of self to the big S of Self--actually, it's both, we don't loose the little s, it gets integrated into the big S, but i'm not sure she would agree with me). the core practice combines breathing with squeezing different parts of the body in a central chann...
