A GOOD PERMISSIVE Bill O'Hanlon (2003). A Guide to Inclusive Therapy O'Hanlon has a Master's degree, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and is the author of over 40 books. In this book, he suggests that we give permission *to and not to have an experience* (except for cases of harmful action), including seemingly opposite or contradictory things...some examples follow: you can feel angry and you don't have to feel angry its ok to be sexual and you don't have to be sexual it ok to and you don't have to... you'll stop this or not giving permission seems to free people to make a choice, knowing that either choice is possible, that whatever they have thought/done is part of a continuum of choices, that other things are possible... the next time you need to make a decision (start with something small), consider what the opposite or contradictory choice might be and create a language structure that acknowledges both choices...e.g., you can do/think X AND...

Multisensory Human Kathy Callahan (2005).  Multisensory Human:                                                  The Evolution of the Soul  Callahan (PhD in Anthropology from Purdue) was a naval officer for 20 years, and wrote several books. This book is not a practical book (it appears that one of her other books, "Living in the Spirit, Applying Spiritual Truths in Daily Life" may be more pragmatic). Callahan uses religion, science, and metaphysics as frameworks for exploring the themes of devolution and evolution in reference to humanity, culture, and spirituality.  The key idea of a multisensory human is one with 2 senses beyond the conventional 5...the 6th being imagination, and the 7th being intuition.  There are 2 types of evolutionary processes: micro and macro.  On the micro level, we are spiritual beings created...

NOW Eckhart Tolle (1999). The Power of Now:                                             A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment While attending two universities, Tolle has no formal degrees...he is self-taught and bases his teachings on personal experience. Often there is a "pause" symbol (an elongated "S" shape with a dot at the center of the upper and lower curves) positioned in the center of the page following a paragraph, reminding the reader to pause and experience/reflect on the words. There is scant formal research cited in the book...Tolle draws on his own interpretation of the teaching of Jesus in the gospels and on other eastern religions (e.g., Buddhism, Hinduism) to support his ideas although he attempt to frame the ideas in somewhat "neutral" language. The thesis of the book is to "live in the now" by being present to the moment: the place of Bei...
