MAGIC

Dean Radin (2025). Science of Magic:

How the Mind Weaves the Fabric of Reality

Radin has a PhD in psychology and over 300 papers (including original research in peer reviewed journals) and 5 other books.

This book provides ample evidence for the reality of magic which include psi (psychic) phenomenon...the effects are "weak" but statistically significant in controlled laboratory settings which over the last 50 years have improved considerably to account for most known methodological issues using double blind studies with valid and reliable measures and often very creative designs...thus, magic is real and can be used for posivite purposes in everyday life.

part 4 of the book is the pragmatic part on "doing magic" but only 32 of 275 pages...there are references to other books and websites for those that want to learn more...this section includes information on enchantment (word magic, sigils, knots, cands, objects--tailsman, amulets, charms), glamouring magic, divintation (e.g., tarrot, runes, i ching; pendelums, dowsing rods, muscles testing; numerology and astrology; scrying, augury and palm/face reading), theugy (invocation, evocation, and conjuring-with proper warnings), and gnosis (meditation, extreme sports, and psychedelics).

for practices, the safest is probably the cultivation of gnosis by "sitting still" and focusing on the breath (he provides details for 2 breath practices in the book)...for opening to what is just below consciousness, one could experiment with something like scryring by softly gazing (while holding an intention or question) into a mirror pointed toward a blank wall/ceiling in a dimly lit room to serve as a portal to inner thoughts.
