MEDJUGORJE


Wayne Weible (1989). Medjugorje: The Message.


Weible has a bachelors degree in journalism and was a newspaper publisher and columnist before traveling to Medjugore in Yogoslavia in 1985...Weible was a Lutheran and eventually became a Catholic in 1991...he writes of his experiences in Medjugorje and his life in the US in the first person, eventually authoring several books and touring as an international speaker on Medjugore.

According to Weible, the Blessed Mother appeared to 6 teenagers in 1981 in a village in Medjugore, and 3 of them continue to have daily apparitions (vision and auditory) of the Blessed Mother as of September 2026 (ongoing daily for 45 years!) while the others have yearly apparitions (some on their birthday, some at Christmas).

The visionaries have been studied by a number of groups, including scientists and psychiatrists, testifying that they are not mentally ill, and in the early years, that they were "normal" healthy teenagers. The Vatican (official church position) supports the basic message (see below) of Medjugore but has not endorsed the supernatural quality of the apparitions. 


The messages of the Blessed Mother include core values of the Christian message:

Peace--for self and others

Conversion--daily commitment to turn one's life over to G

Fasting and Self-denial (sacrifice)--freedom and service

Faith via scripture study, eucharist, reconciliation, and love

Yeva was 12 years old when the war began in her city in the Ukraine...she kept a detailed diary by day and time for 28 days, from the sound of the first bomb to her landing in Dublin, Ireland, free at last.
