PERELANDRA

Machaelle Small Wright (1997, rev). Behaving As If the God

                                                            In All Life Mattered.

Wright has no formal educational credentials. She is a self-taught naturalist who works directly with nature intelligences and has authored several books outlining her personal history and methods.

About 2/3's of this book is autobiographical...there is much hardship and tragedy but she views these events positively, as preparation for her work with energy, forces, and sports of nature...co-creating with them on a 45 acre nature research center called Perelandra (named after the colony planet in the C. S. Lewis space fiction book).

Only the last 30 pages of the book reveal "how to" practices...she refers to 2 workbooks for further instructions, the Perelandra Garden Workbook and Workbook II.

Her best practical advice:

say "i want...", explain why by providing definition, direction, and purpose (these 3 components are themes), and ASK nature for help...be quiet and listen...show faith by acting on whatever information is provided...repeat the cycle of being quiet, listening, and acting...again and again until the desired outcome is reached.

Feeling energy practice:

enter a room, sit, close eyes, and feel the energy...mess up parts of the room and repeat (sit in same place, close eyes, and feel the energy)...put the room back together and repeat...move one thing and repeat...clear the room and repeat...slowing put things in place, feeling the energy each time until everything has its place (this can take a long time, suggest starting with a small room, or part of a room)...the purpose of this activity is to prove to yourself that things have energy, and that this energy can be felt.

working with nature spirits:

say, "i'd like to connect with the deva of...", provide definition, direction, and purpose...request help from the nature spirits...disconnect from the deva...that's it!
