SPIRITUAL CLASSICS Tom Butler-Bowdon (2005). 50 Spiritual Classics . Butler-Bowdon has a BA in Goverment and History, and Masters in International Political Economy. He has written a series of books called "50...", currating the best of a given topic area...this topic being spirituality.  Each short chapter of 4-6 pages includes author's background, name and summary of seminal book, related books, a nutshell of ideas, an explication of central themes in the book, and his own commentary. unfortunately, many of the books do not include explicit instructions for spiritual practices but focus more on spiritual ideas, ideals, values, perspectives, and beliefs. two examples of possible spiritual practices include: Heschel's sabbath...set aside time each week to honor G, creation, and simply BE. O'Donahue's anam cara...approaching life as spiritual friendship, especially with all of creation.

ISLAND Aldous Huxley (1962). Island . Huxley has a degree in English literature from Oxford and turned to writing for the remainder of his life. This fictional novel is about a utopian society that developed on a remote Pacific island that is being threatened by modern industrialized society (the novel ends with a tragic military pary assacinating the leader of the island in a single night). Most of the story is about Will Farnaby's sailing accident that leaves him on the island of Pala where he learns about the innovations of utopian society. TOM'S PARK Thomas Campbell (2021).  Tom's Park:                                                       A Virtual Imaginatily Training Program Campbell earned a BS in physics and worked with the Army, NASA, and the Monroe Institute, and he is the author of My Big Toe trilogy. This book is a tour of Tom's Park, a virtual reality game designed for left-brain dominant folks to develop their intuition. One uses their imagination to engage all of the senses in the many activities at Tom's park until the activity becomes so real that it takes on a life of it's own, i.e., we no longer need to  consciously decide everything...instead, the story writes itself (in the context of the game, we received a download from the larger consciousness)...there are many things one can do at the park, including solving problems, learning skills...

Someone to Wed. 3rd book in the Wescot series of romance novels set in England, describing the relationship between Alexander Westcott, the Earl of Riverdale, and Wren Heyden, a wealthy adopted lady who owns a glassworks... memorable parts (paraphrased): failure and success must be taken in stride, learning the lessons each has to offer eccentrics listen to the music at the heart of themselves and dance to its melody despite what other may think/say/do.   let us actively learn to know ourselves well enough to move in rhythm with the beat of our soul...questioning anyone that may say otherwise.
